About
I’m a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist (BScN, RN) in Brantford, Ontario with a special focus in the treatment and ongoing management of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Up to 3% of the population is affected by obsessive-compulsive disorder, but few clinicians in Ontario specialize in the condition. I also provide traditional talk therapy to clients without OCD and PTSD.
My clinical background includes work in sexual health and abortion care, as well as ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. I’ve completed advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with a focus on Exposure and Response Prevention, through the University of Pennsylvania.
My work is direct and structured. I do not practice reassurance-driven or purely supportive therapy. Treatment focuses on identifying avoidance, interrupting compulsive patterns, and tolerating discomfort in service of long-term recovery. This approach is not for everyone, but it is effective. I am aware that my online presence reads as cold and clinical or austere on paper. In practice, it is grounded in respect and genuine investment in outcomes. I am deeply logic-focused because precision matters in OCD and trauma treatment, but therapy does not need to be sterile. The work can be serious without being humourless, and sometimes stepping back enough to laugh at OCD is part of taking back authority from it.
My practice is grounded in evidence and outcome data, particularly within Exposure and Response Prevention. I focus on what actually moves recovery forward and I’m clear about why we do what we do. Therapy doesn’t need to be humourless. Sometimes the ability to laugh is part of stepping back from OCD and realizing it doesn’t get to run the room forever.
My focus on OCD treatment and advocacy comes from lived experience. I know how relentless and suffocating OCD can be when it takes over every corner of life. I also know that with proper evidence based treatment and commitment, recovery is real.
